It was recorded in 1917 by Harry Kandel’s band; I learned it from a late-30’s recording by Dave Tarras, who is generally considered to share with Naftule Brandwein the honors of top American klezmer clarinetists of the 20th century (both born and raised in
Eastern Europe, of course).
